I may have found the ultimate music hosting site...

I was unsatisfied with Indiesound so I went looking for a new music site to host my music.  I tried a site called openwhyd but that was a pile of crap. Then I tried this site whyp.it and that actually turned out to be great. Then I tried posting music videos to tiktok but that is filled with annoying video upload limits so I don't like it much. But whyp.it is insane.

On Whyp.it I have 5 caustic euphony songs, 5 retro evisceration songs, and a shit ton of unleashing vengeance songs up there... On this site these songs keep on getting played on their own, something this site has in common with indiesound only. Other sites have been a lot worse in this reguard (forget about getting this to happen on audiomack, they will ignore your music there if you write 1 bad song, same thing is true with audius), but Whyp.it is killing it.

Now the playcounts could be a lot better, but the sheer amount of tracks getting plays is insane there...  About 90% of my songs have been played on whyp.it.  And this is after only 1 day. ONE FUCKING DAY! It took MONTHS to be noticed on audius and audiomack.  And people listen on twitter, which is great.

I want to thank the people who made whyp.it. I love this site... It blows soundcloud, audius AND audiomack to smithereens! It is better than indiesound due to one reason as well... NO music upload limits minus a minor 8 minute song or higher not allowed thing.  Not a lot of music upload sites have unlimited tracks for a free account. Soundcloud doesn't have that. Tiktok has limits, they all have limits. Indiesound for instance, has an insane 5 songs only per account limit which is really bad for a prolific artist like unleashing vengeance, that wrote tons of cds per year for 12+ years... And the sites that allow you to post unlimited tracks, most of them are crap that have bad fanbase issues where the fans ignore your music like on audius and audiomack. Whyp.it is the ONLY phenominal site for my music now.. I give it a 9.7/10!  Indiesound by comparison is only an 8/10, soundcloud is only a 6/10 and audiomack and audius are like 5 or 6 out of 10.

My music is killing it in the indie scene now...

Update for you people on my music... It is doing really well online thanks to indiesound mostly. On Indiesound I am regularly getting songs with 1000+ plays, sometimes up to 5000 or so. I am also getting some really EXTREME shit posted low in the charts there for a few days which is weird, but great. Extreme stuff like Black Metal and Blackened Thrash metal is killing it.

Here are songs that have done great...

On soundcloud and audius I am not doing as well but soundcloud seems to be getting a bit better. I posted some older unleashing vengeance and did an autoplaying unleashing vengeance playlist for my blogs there, so check that out...

This is good news people...

My Music is doing amazing in the Indie Scene now!

I wasn't expecting much When I uploaded my music to indiesound.com  I was expecting maybe 200 plays in 1 month maybe. That's it.  I posted the music 9 months ago.  I checked it earlier this month and found out I had 13000 plays in  9 momths...

Since then It has been insane there... I have gotten a total of 29000+ plays there in 9 months now and I am happy that Caustic Euphony and Unleashing Vengeance are now getting tons of plays..

You can go here to actually hear the music...

Caustic Euphony I knew was good. It was progressive Death Metal and it had black metal elements thrown in. Unleashing Vengeance I wasn't sure about. Some of it sounded like Thrash, and other stuff sounded like weird ass folk metal with Overdriven Guitars.  I wasn't sure people would like it. It got labeled shitcore after all...

But to my surprise, Unleashing Vengeance songs are doing great, a lot  have gotten 500+ plays. Some have gotten 1500+ plays. A few got 2300+ plays.  Caustic Euphony though, is killing it there. Tons of songs with 1000+ plays.

It has gotten so good, that before I deleted a third solo artist that was there to upload new music to get around the upload limit, I had more average plays per month in the last 17 days than some Major Label Bands, Including overkill, exodus, and Destruction. I also had a lot more than some major label bands that are doing bad now like Manticora, Persuader and Detonation.  It has been great there, and I hope it keeps on happening.

I just formed a new metal solo artist called Technical Blasphemy...

I have metal news for music I write. I formed a new metal solo artist called Technical Blasphemy Last week. This is an attempt to do "realtime" module music, where I map each key of my keyboard to a set of samples playing at once to be able to simply hit keys on my keyboard to perform a song. The top row of keys does guitars and drums simultaniously... The next row does choirs. The final row does accoustic. This allows me to play music in real time.

I've experimented with this for a while with solo projects I kept to myself, with bad results... Now I finally have something that can do good music I think, as my practice level has finally gotten to the point I can make good songs a lot more often.

Technical blasphemy is a prog metal project that only does intrumentals.  It has a sort of blackened vibe to it and had epic dark choirs, classic influences, lots of syncopated riffs, time changes everywhere, jazz drumming and a lot more... I wanted to do this for a while.  It payed off.

To hear technical blasphemies music go here:

https://audiomack.com/zas-music

It currently is not on anything else but that and my soundcloud which you can find here:

https://soundcloud.com/zashit666

Technical blasphemy has a theme : Paranormal phenomina. It does concept albums. So far I've done one on Alien Abduction, and plan to do 2 more tonight, one on A mothman sighting that turned into a government  coverup, and one on the Brazil Mage Ufo Crash.  Stay Tuned...

Some Asshole has been Hacking my Music Production Computer and finally has been removed...

I spent the last month tracking, hunting, researching methods on removing, and finally removing, a hacker that got on to my computer. I have no clue who this was and probably never will.. It sucks too, because that info would be so valuable now... Especially with me and the possibility someone who hated unleashing vengeance hired the hacker or executed the hack him/herself...

The Hacker used a very weak method of taking over my machine, a weak method known as windows remote assistance, It is a system where someone can access your computer and remotely assist you by fixing problems while doing so. The problem is, this allows hackers in as well thanks to unpatched vulnerabilities... I disabled this feature immediately and the hacker went away suddenly. Cleaning out my temp files may have also helped... As early as 2015 and before, the hacker made himself known... Back in 2011, someone made my previous PC, a PC's for everyone PC, slow down. Sysprot antirootkit found a LOT of hidden browser processes... I assumed my PC was turned into a proxy server.. I reformatted it then... In 2015, my PC displayed odd, supposed hard drive failure symptoms that included audacity (my mixing software) and OpenMT (my tracking software) failing to play any sound all the way through... I soon got the PC nuked by some virus and the repair shop called it hard drive failure even though it wasn't... The PC then got a new Hard drive in 2015 and as soon as 2020 hit other weird tracker symptoms happened... The instrument I was selecting to write riffs with would suddenly change on it's own.... I thought this might be a tracker bug but since it happened then and never before, I assumed that isn't the case. In 2021 a folder on my Mp3 player suddenly got "locked" by malware, locking me out of it. It had unleashing vengeance music. Soon afterwards, the folder containing all music on the player also got locked.. Luckily resetting the mp3 player fixed this.... Now I can play any music I feel like on xmas day if my sister has a family gettogether... I am buying a new mp3 player just incase this was an mp3 player failing... Strange hard drive errors soon happened on one of my external hard drives. Files copied over would all get deleted mysteriously... This bothered me for a while. This even happened when the internet was unplugged, proving it was some kind of malware doing it or some kind of hard drive problem... Disabling windows remote assistance made this go away, proving it was malware. Cleaning up the temp folder also may have stopped this. These weird symptoms that happened from 2011 to later bother me. Clearly SOMEONE didn't want me to write music or make music. They went as far as trying to disable the ability to copy to my mp3 player, what I use to play music over my sisters... They fucked up with my tracker when I was writing music. They fucked up my tracker AND my mixing software in 2015... SOMEONE didn't like me making music. SOMEONE... I don't know who.. Suspects range from idiots in the Doom Community who trolled me for making bad wads and for me trolling them for trolling me, to someone else I am close with who might be someone who would gain from my music being stopped by various Issues like this. I don't know... All I know is this. This Hacker is gone now. No signs of him remain.. I have no clue how to proceed... All I know is this shit has to end now... This kind of crap is against the law, NO ONE should pay someone to do this to a musicians computer, no matter HOW offensive the music is, no matter HOW offensive the trolling video was, it does not matter, it's still illegal to do this. Clearly SOMEONE doesn't like unleashing vengeance, and has NO problem with doing illegal actions to kill it or other music I have written since then like thrashfest. His actions in august/september 2020 almost killed the production of thrashfest, a brilliant thrash metal solo artist I put together to replace the perminently disbanded unleashing vengeance. It didn't work... Thrashfest WILL be played this XMAS if we have a gettogether... SOMEONE will hear it. I don't care if the lyrics are offensive, I don't care if it's a "Bad" influence, I don't give a shit. This shit won't stop me. EVER!

Album Review : Insomnium - Heart like a grave

Album Review : Insomnium – Heart like a grave

Insomnium is a grest band from Finland people need to check out more.  They’re style is definitely melodic death metal, but quite atypical melodeth, being way sadder sounding than most.   By far my favorite melodeth band to listen to now, they are also one of the darkest and listening to their depressing lyrics about suicide, heartache, lovers dying, really gets me a little depressed sometimes. But it’s all good because their music is so amazing that it’s worth feeling a bit depressed after hearing their music.

Insomnium has amazing guitars. Their style is doom/melodeath and it has a lot of doom elements thrown in to their music.  It is also quite dark lyrically to fit that. Their latest cd “heart like a grave” is a total masterpiece! This cd is by far their best ever and their most depressing at the same time. Wail of the North kicks in with piano then some heavier riffs. Then you get valediction a catchy opener about suicide apparently. It’s dark but not as  dark as their later songs. it is great however, as most insomnium openers are, but isn’t the best on the cd either. The next song, “Neverlast” is amazingly heavy for an insomnium song and has a very sad guitar solo near the end. Then you get the best track on the cd, Pale morning Star!

Pale Morning Star, is the best song they’ve ever done, potentially, blending in black metal, prog metal, and death metal together. It’s also quite sad, about a guy dreaming about his dead girlfriend. Or trying to contact her in a dream This is kind of reminiscent of real life for me, long story short.  The song is dark and is quite depressing but is so good sounding that you don’t care. The guitar melody near the end of the song is downright Beautiful.

Then you get the song I always skip on the cd. This song is strangely not too depressing but is also very slow and ballady, and I always skip it for that reason. Not a bad song, because insomnium just doesn’t DO bad songs, but definitely not their best. The song is called “and bells they toll”

Then you get their next song (“the offering”) which makes me scratch my head. Number 1, It IS a good song but it’s just so heartachie that it makes me cry sometimes. Maybe the saddest song on the whole cd, it deals with someone sacrificing themselves for their lover’s health. Maybe in battle. And not just their body, their very soul!  The song is really well written though, so it isn’t bad, it’s just SUPER depressing, because NOBODY would do something like this, unless people in finland did this, I don’t know!

The next song “mute is my sorrow” is a great song about someone searching for someone he wanted to love him back but would not.  This song is actually quite proggy and is one of their best. I like it a lot, and it’s a favorite of mine on the cd. Then you get twilight trails. The song is great, don’t get me wrong, but I find it SLIGHTLY boring. Not a bad song, it’s got some epicness thrown in but I usually don’t like it nearly as much as stuff like the offering, Pale Morning star and neverlast. Still, I will give insomnium credit, it’s a damn good song, just not their best.

Then you get the title track and 3 bonus tracks. The 3 bonus tracks are ok but are kind of forgettable so I won’t review them. The title track, heart like a grave, is one of their most sad songs on the whole cd, dealing wtth someone who regrets causing a bad relationship and breakup afterwards.  This song is really dark sounding and it fits the mood the songs’s lyrics try to portray.  The music is top notch for the final track as well, with a really good melody in it too. Overall this is insomnium’s GREATEST CD ever – 9.9/10

Album Review : Chthonic - Mirror of Retribution

This is a band that everyone needs to check out – Chthonic! Chthonic, is an Asian Band from Taiwan that plays vicious blackened death metal with some slight leanings of asian music thrown in. A folk metal band some people call them. I am hesistant to call them that on this cd however, for it is so much heavier than most folk metal that it’s not funny. This cd’s music is very death metal oriented, far more so than any of their other cd’s.

The First Track, Blooming Blades, is an example of why no one should call this cd folk metal! It’s do brutal It can only be death metal. Maybe Oriental Death Metal is a better name for them, but even that is misleading, because oriental usually in music means middle eastern music influenced NOT asian music influenced.   It is still a great song with a sick chorus. The Second Song, Hearts condemned is actually more black metal than death metal and sounds really somber. The Er-hu (Asian Stringed instrument that kind of sounds like a deep fiddle) helps to make this sound sad.  The next song however is my favorite on the cd, and it’s called “venom in my veins”. This song totally kicks ass!
The riffs here are catchy as fuck and it’s so heavy!  Incredible song!

The Fourth Song, The Aroused, is actually a bit slower and is more dark sounding musically and lyrically.  It is good, but isn’t really their best song. The song after that sing-ling temple is a skip for me. It’s super heavy but has very little good melodies. The one after that, 1947 is an instrumental in traditional asian music with no guitars. It is actually quite good and sad sounding.

The Next song 49 Theurgy Chains, is another awesome song from this cd. The riffs are so catchy and heavy. The melodies are great too. The Song after that, called Rise from the shadows is another pretty good song by them. It’s heavy as hell and has good melodies. The song after that is actually one of their heaviest songs, entitled bloody waves of sorrow. This is the last song on the cd I like. There are 3 other songs but I am not a big fan of any of them. This song however is quite good. It has 2 halves, a very heavy first half and a lighter, more melodic second half with female vocals.  That second half is why I like the song but the first half is kind of forgettable.

Overall, this is a great introduction to Asian Metal for people who want to try it. I would also recommend Demonic Resurrection, and Valendusk as well for Asian metal bands to check out. Overall – 8/10
